OUR MISSION
Irene & Emmanuel Markopoulos Foundation (V&E Foundation) was founded by Emmanuelle Charalampous‑Engel (Markopoulos Family Fund) in January 2022, in London, while initiating "The Movement" — a campaign for the protection of the rights of children and women, in collaboration with the Government authorities of the Republic of Cyprus. The Foundation has since helped build awareness and advocate for action on protecting children from sexual abuse, as well as helping those who have already fallen victim.
Our vision is directly linked to the history of children's rights, internationally enshrined since 1989 in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), its facultative protocols and general observations, as well as other regional or national legal instruments respecting its spirit — and the ability of adults and children alike to translate these rights into daily decisions, actions and collaboration.

Our initiative upholds the standards of both the Istanbul Convention and the Lanzarote Convention — affirming every child's right to protection from sexual abuse and exploitation, and advocating zero tolerance for all forms of violence against women and girls.
